Residents and Traditional Rulers commend the role of ACPN in Disease Prevention

Residents commends ACPN



The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Lagos State Branch, have played an important role in disease management and prevention of which the Olu of Ishaga, His Royal Highness Oba Abass Ajibade, together with his partner from Ifako-Ijaiye kingdom, His Royal Highness, Oba Taofeek Fatusi Obawole, and a few inhabitants of the two networks have commended the association.

An event which tool place at the Ifako-Ijaiye mini stadium, Ifako in order to celebrate the word Pharmacy Day of 2018. One of the royal fathers of the event Oba Taofeek Fatusi who is the Obawole Onifako of Ifako Kingdom, spoke on the how community pharmacists are immensely contributing to the wellness of the society.

A speech was also delivered by Pharm. (Mrs) Abiola Paul Ozieh on the way by which drug abuse is becoming a menace to the society. Dangerous drugs such as codeine, pentazocine, tramadol etc are continued to be abused by many people these days and if care is not taken we’ll regret it in the nearest future.

Additionally, Oba Abass Ajibade, who is the the Olu of Ishaga, sys community pharmacies have brought basic health services closer general population at the grassroots. He added that the role of ACPN cannot be over emphasized.

Journalists were able to answer questions during the event. Pharm. Olabanji Benedict Obideyi, who is the chairman ACPN Lagos state was able address the questions being asked. He added that the theme of the event was chosen in order to remind the society about the importance of community Pharmacists. Pharmacists have evolved from mere drug dispensers to full health care providers.

There was free counselling and tests such as blood pressure, breast cancer, tuberculosis, dental check, blood glucose level etc.
